Heat Network Quality Assurance & HNTAS

Elan MEP can carry out audits on design in progress or on existing Heat Network and communal heating schemes. We offer HNTAS gap analysis checks in order to assess, for our Clients, the implications of the new HNTAS regulations. We can do quality assurance (QA) validation checks on designs and Quality Control (QC) Verification checks at handover. The use of a 3rd party for acceptance testing is the best way to achieve a problem-free first period of operation of a community or district heat network.

Heat Network Design Checks

The heat network industry is evolving so quickly that the ability of many businesses in the sector to keep up with the advances in design knowledge is being put to the test.

We can apply the principles of resilient design correctly to manage and improve the redundancy in existing system design and reduce downtime.

Keeping up-to-date with developments in the industry is important so that the correct advice can be given. We can review and comment on your consultant designs as a final check.

Heat Network Optimisation (HNES)

We offer both a grant funding application route for HNES optimisation studies and a client paid for route to an HNES compliant study. This means that clients can move faster to a full HNES capital funding application. We carry out detailed technical review of existing systems and identify the optimisation measures that should be implemented. The technical report includes a root cause analysis on key failures and also benchmarks the system against established KPIs. A techno-economic assessment for the costs and the effect on carbon emissions of measures proposed are included in this study.

Decarbonisation Studies

The fossil fuel means by which we heat light and cool our buildings are a major source of carbon emissions. There are actions that can be taken to reduce emissions in the short-term from gas-fired and cooling plant. There are easy wins in this area, in that very large numbers of buildings have plant that is either poorly maintained or it failed to be set up correctly during the final commissioning stage at Handover. It is properly delivered MEP Engineering that drives to results in achieving Low Carbon operation and design.

Expert Determination and Mediation for M&E and Heat Network projects

Performance Specification
